Buddies
Buddies are upper key stage children who look out for others. Their main role takes place on the playground. Year five children are invited to become Buddies. They are put into groups of 4-6 and monitor the playground or classrooms during wet break to ensure children are happy and are not feeling left out or alone.
Buddies follow a rigorous training programme delivered by a facilitator and teaching assistant. Each group of Buddies work on a rota to ensure they do not miss out on valuable playtime themselves.
