The Romans are responsible for creating many beautiful buildings, that inspired the architecture of many countries, which we can still see throughout the world today. Roman architecture is noted for a number of reasons, but one of the most important additions that the Romans brought to architecture is the arch.
Read this PowerPoint which shows you a number of Roman buildings. Discuss what you can see.
I would then like you to plan a Roman style building which you are going to make next week. There is an example of how you can make your structure in the PowerPoint, but can you challenge yourself to create your own? You can spend this week collecting recyclable materials for your building.
In your plan include:
- What you will need.
- A drawing of your structure
LO: I can tell you the range of jobs carried out in society.
I would like you create a mind-map of jobs that you know and discuss/write about what skills/characteristics you need to have for each one. Draw pictures and write down your ideas onto the mind-map.
Ideas to consider:
How can you learn these skills?
What skills/talents do you have?
Which job would you like/dislike to do? Why?
